Counselling
During my twenties I enjoyed my studies at the University of Hamburg and I had a big circle of friends. However, I could also feel lonely and confused. Counselling helped me to understand myself and my relationships with others better. As a result I embarked in 1987 on a training in Hakomi-therapy, a body-centred psycho-therapy with its roots in Buddhism and in Systems theory. I also trained for 4 years with the late Michael Smith and Al Bauman in the bodywork of Wilhelm Reich. The following years I worked in my counselling practice in Hamburg with these two approaches.
After I came to England in 1998, I started my training with Relate and I am now a Relate certified couple counsellor, young people’s counsellor and systemic family therapist. I am also one of their trainers.
An accompanied session
Sometimes we need to talk to someone, because we might go through a transition, face a difficult life situation or feel uncertain about our direction in life, but we don't want to embark on counselling. In this case I can offer you what I would call an accompanied session. It can be a one-off meeting and can last up to 2 hours to explore what it is that you might need. In this session I will also invite you to sit with me for a short period in silent meditation so that we can open up to a wider dimension regarding the issues that brought you to me.
If either counselling or an accompanied session sounds right for you I would be pleased to meet with you. Please contact me by email with your enquiry. |
